A freelance gig for the DIRECTV design team, I helped update the native mobile apps and entertainment website.
I worked on two projects during my time there and there were two different asks: 1) Redesign navigation of the iOS and Android apps. 2) Redesign the experience on their website to help subscribers browse for Movies, TV Shows and other content.
There is a vast number of devices with the digital ecosystem of DIRECTV: Multiple versions of Satellite Boxes for TVs, iOS and Android apps, and Apple tvOS. How do you design for just one platform and align with other teams for a unified brand and experience?
The solution for both updates required a lot of alignment meetings with Content Strategy, Product Managers, Copywriters, and Design leadership teams. The result is a website and native application that took visual/experience cues from the overall DIRECTV ecosystem.
